A Note From Pastor John...
| |
Hey Guys,
|
Did you see the baptism this past Sunday? If you did, you may not have noticed how low the water level in the baptistery was. The water main that fills the tank broke overnight and water was gushing under the children’s building stage and out the back of the building. There was only about 2 feet of water left in the baptistery when I got to church, and I wasn’t sure we could baptize 3 people (2 were adults) in that little water. Guess what……. We did! They just sat down and I leaned them back just enough to immerse them. I can’t help think that Satan was fighting against us again, trying to thwart God’s plan and a life-changing experience that day. He didn’t win, and we know he will never overcome God and His plan for His church!
When we get discouraged or disappointed in life, remember that God will never be defeated. The Bible tells us, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” You know the answer to that question. Follow God with all your heart. Remain in Him (John 15) and you will bear much fruit. Apart from Him, we can do nothing! That is an awesome, encouraging promise.
We have a big event for kids this Sunday that your kids won’t want to miss. The Mad Science guy is coming to do an awesome show during both hours of our kids worship time. Encourage your kids to invite their friends to come, and you do the same. Let’s make this Sunday a huge day of worship and celebration at NPCC. Who will your friend be this Sunday?
All Out,
John Sharp
PS. As I shared Sunday, our theme for the fall is serving and giving. What better way to grow in Christ than to do what he has called us to do…..be servants and sharers of the faith. Check out the immediate opportunities below and pick one to get involved in.
